Magicians Never Tell

Aug 1, 2005

August 1st, 2005

this is the beginning

of the week
of the month
of the rest of my life
(and yours)

a time to gather yourself
in great golden armfuls

and heap high upon the moment
all the holiness of wholeness.

so come as you are

(no- you don't have to leave your shoes
outside this temple)

this time is for making peace with wingflap and high-pitched confusion
(that rising cloud of restless pigeons within)

this time is for sitting by still pools and watching water lilies bloom
(that delicate sun-tipped yawning into wakefulness)

this time is for counting blessings without numbers
(and no i don?t know what will happen)

don't ask so many questions
of this moment

remember-

magicians never tell.
