Gold-Trimmed Style

Jun 17, 2005

and maybe every life is really a prayer in disguise. crowding together at the shrine of this day.

sunrise is no ritual
(not either your footsteps in the garden)

this could be the very beginning
ask the flowers who have only this day
(what makes you think you're so different?)

arrives a golden wholeness and then dawn
breaks an eternal promise is fullfilled
(to forgive a flawed earth)

the sunrise sky carries no record of our faults
and blame means nothing to the blackbird.
(only the malicious depend on memory)

and now we too shall learn to forgive
in such giltless gold-trimmed style.
(our selves in each other)
